October is the month the season stops easing in and starts stacking up. The month starts with countries, and once that window shuts the Premier League runs four matchweeks without pausing. If you plan to register with Bet9ja in October, the code you want is YOHAIG.

Where the promotion code fits at registration

Bet9ja puts a promotion code box on the registration form, and it gets skipped more often than you would think. Type YOHAIG into that box and the account is flagged for the welcome offer, worth up to ₦100,000 depending on your first deposit. It is a one-time box, because the code will not attach to an account that already exists.

The code itself is free. New customers only, and the bonus comes with wagering conditions, which is standard across the market. Read them on the promo page before you fund the account.

Register with promotion code YOHAIG and claim up to ₦100,000 as a welcome bonus.

The first week belongs to the national teams

The UEFA Nations League runs its third and fourth rounds between the 1st and the 6th of October, so the opening week is international football only. Nigeria travel to the Nizhny Novgorod Stadium to face Russia in a friendly on Tuesday 6 October. A kick-off time had not been published when this was written, so check it on the day rather than assuming.

The club season returns on 10 October

Club football restarts on Saturday 10 October. The Saturday runs from Arsenal against Leeds United through to Manchester United versus Tottenham Hotspur, then Anfield has Liverpool against Manchester City on Sunday. The following weekend brings Everton against Chelsea, Newcastle United hosting Aston Villa, and Nottingham Forest versus Arsenal on the Sunday evening.

Matchweek eight starts on Friday 23 October with Ipswich Town versus Nottingham Forest and peaks with Chelsea against Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday evening. October finishes on Saturday 31st, Chelsea versus Manchester United at lunchtime and Aston Villa against Fulham in the evening.

Worth noting: Manchester City have reportedly been found guilty on all but one of their 115 charges. No sanction had been confirmed when this was written. Any sanction announced mid-season would shift the outright markets sharply, so check the latest before committing to a season-long position.

The clock change nobody plans for

The United Kingdom returns to GMT on Sunday 25 October while Nigerian time stays where it is. Up to Saturday the 24th, a kick-off listed in UK time is the same clock time in Lagos. From the 25th onward, add an hour: a match listed at 15:00 in England starts at 16:00 in Nigeria.

Getting the most out of a busy month

•

• Put the code in during sign-up, because it cannot be added later. The code only applies to a new account.

• Fix your October budget before the first matchweek lands. Four matchweeks with no break is a long stretch to stay disciplined.
