October is where the fixture list stops being polite. A short international stretch comes first, then four straight Premier League matchweeks with nothing in between. For anyone signing up to Bet9ja this month, the promotion code is YOHAIG.

What you get for entering the code

There is a promo field on the Bet9ja sign-up form, and plenty of new users leave it blank. Put YOHAIG in the field and the account picks up the welcome offer, which runs to a maximum of ₦100,000 based on what you deposit first. It is a one-time box, because the code will not attach to an account that already exists.

Nothing is charged for the code. New customers only, and the bonus comes with wagering conditions, which is standard across the market. Look at the conditions first so the bonus behaves the way you expect.

Register with promotion code YOHAIG to claim up to ₦100,000 welcome bonus.

The Super Eagles close the international window

The UEFA Nations League runs its third and fourth rounds between the 1st and the 6th of October, so the opening week is international football only. Nigeria close their own window with a friendly away to Russia at the Nizhny Novgorod Stadium on Tuesday 6 October. The kick-off time was still unannounced when this went up, so confirm it before you stake.

The club season returns on 10 October

The clubs are back from Saturday 10 October. Arsenal versus Leeds United opens it at lunchtime, Manchester United take on Tottenham Hotspur later that day, and Liverpool host Manchester City at Anfield on the Sunday. A week later you get Everton versus Chelsea, Newcastle United against Aston Villa, and Nottingham Forest hosting Arsenal on Sunday evening.

Friday 23 October opens the next round with Ipswich Town against Nottingham Forest, and Chelsea versus Tottenham Hotspur headlines the Saturday. The month closes on Saturday 31 October with Chelsea against Manchester United at lunchtime and Aston Villa hosting Fulham under the lights.

There is also the Manchester City case, with the club reportedly found guilty on nearly all of the 115 charges. No sanction had been confirmed when this was written. Any sanction announced mid-season would shift the outright markets sharply, so check the latest before committing to a season-long position.

Why kick-off times move on 25 October

UK clocks go back on Sunday 25 October, and Nigeria stays put. Until Saturday the 24th, UK and Nigerian kick-off times read identically. From the 25th you add an hour, so a 15:00 English kick-off is 16:00 Nigerian time.

Practical notes for October

•

• Fill the promo field while registering, since there is no way back to it. YOHAIG only works on the way in.

• Set a monthly figure before the clubs come back and stick to it. Four matchweeks with no break is a long stretch to stay disciplined.
