Sign up with the YOHAIG promotion code for up to ₦100,000 as a welcome bonus.

The first week belongs to the national teams

The UEFA Nations League runs its third and fourth rounds between the 1st and the 6th of October, so the opening week is international football only. No kick-off time was confirmed at the time of writing, so look it up before you build anything.

What the Premier League gives you this month

League football resumes on Saturday 10 October. Arsenal versus Leeds United opens it at lunchtime, Manchester United take on Tottenham Hotspur later that day, and Liverpool host Manchester City at Anfield on the Sunday. The 17th and 18th give you Everton against Chelsea, Newcastle United versus Aston Villa and Nottingham Forest against Arsenal.

Matchweek eight starts on Friday 23 October with Ipswich Town versus Nottingham Forest and chaullabamba.com peaks with Chelsea against Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday evening. The month closes on Saturday 31 October with Chelsea against Manchester United at lunchtime and Aston Villa hosting Fulham under the lights.

One thing hanging over the month: Manchester City have reportedly been found guilty on almost all of the 115 charges brought against them. The penalty had not been announced when this went up. Should a points deduction follow, the outright markets reprice immediately, so read the news before backing anything long-term.

Why kick-off times move on 25 October

British clocks go back on Sunday 25 October and Nigeria does not move. Up to Saturday the 24th, a kick-off listed in UK time is the same clock time in Lagos. After that Sunday you add sixty minutes, which makes a 15:00 English kick-off a 16:00 start here.
